Let there be light, Weber jokes of night F1

Formula One`s first night race along the city streets of Singapore will a "spectacular event" predicted Red Bull`s Mark Webber -- as long as no one kills the lights.

The Australian driver told reporters on Thursday he expected Sunday`s nighttime Singapore Grand Prix to go off without a hitch and provide spectators with a unique
atmosphere.

"The most exciting thing for me is (racing under) the lights. It is going to look spectacular," the 32-year-old said.

But he warned it would be a very different story if the circuit`s lighting system encountered any problems. "If the lights go out we`re in trouble," he joked.

With qualifying on Saturday at 2200 local (1400 GMT) and the race at 2000 on Sunday, one of the biggest problems for drivers is keeping their minds and bodies on European time while in Singapore. That means going to bed in the early hours of the morning and getting up in the afternoon for breakfast.

"The sleep patterns are more important than anything," he added. "It is just moving our sleep around a little bit, which hasn`t been too much of a jump because Red Bull throws loads of parties every night."
