UEFA Euro 2008 Stuffs

Two years ago, during FIFA World Cup 2006 Germany, we collected and posted many icon, wallpaper, and screensaver related to that big football event. Nokia E90 vs Sony Ericsson W960 Cell Phone

I need to replace my cheap made-in-China cell phone (which is now officially broken) with either Nokia E90 or Sony Ericsson W960. The problem is, I can’t choose which one as both have almost similar specs. Such as 3.2MP camera, WiFI, 3G, 128MB RAM, 8GB storage, Bluetooth w/ A2DP, USB, video call, FM radio, Java MIDP 2.0, and WAP browser.

However, with around $200 higher price, Nokia E90 has several advantages over W960. They are: built-in GPS receiver, a 4-inch widescreen display (W960 has 2.6-inch display), HSDPA, EDGE, microSD memory card slot, Infrared, QWERTY keyboard and Symbian OS v9.2 (W960 runs v9.1). Is that much amount of money worth the difference?

Still unsure.

To make things more complicated, Sony Ericsson W960 has a few good things to consider. Touch screen interface with handwriting recognition, RSS reader, and longer battery life (which definitely beat E90’s silly 5 hours battery life). And once again, its price is way cheaper than E90.

I’m a big fans of Sony Ericsson (a happy owner of K800 and K850 FYI), but this time I’m really not sure whether I should buy W960 or turn my back over it.

Any suggestion?

I can’t resist anymore. With the flock of excellent new RPG game running toward PSP — and since I’m a hardcore RPG fans — I finally end up spent my Rp 2.000.000,- (about $215 with the current conversion) to buy PSP a.k.a Playstation Portable. Then, not want to miss any single PSP titles, I bought a package of 20 (yes, TWENTY) DVD discs full of PSP game ISO. Now I’m ready to beat those huge list of PSP’s RPG titles

Devil May Cry 4 - XBox 360 or PS3?

As you might already aware of, Capcom’s latest hit, “Devil May Cry 4″, is available as an exclusive package in both Playstation 3 and XBox 360. Yes, if you haven’t own any of those 3rd-gen gaming console, and you’re a fans of Dante, you can pick up either XBox 360 Devil May Cry 4 Premium Pack or the Exclusive Devil May Cry 4 Playstation 3 Package. Which one is better? Well, that depends on many factor, each console has its own pros and cons.

Personally, I’d recommend you to get XBox 360. It’s cheaper and with less exclusivity nowadays, most of PS3 games are available on X360. The special package for DMC4 is no different, with the XBox 360 version retails 10,000 Yen cheaper than the PS3 version. As for the graphics, eventhough PS3 has better hardware specs, not much games have took full advantage of ‘em, so the overall graphics quality is much the same.

$388,596! Not bad :P Of course, this is not the real value of this blog, it’s just for fun. I got the formula from Inside Google. It is based on the math calculation made by Tristan Louis, who recently make some math on on the Technorati metrics for all the blogs in the Weblogs Inc network vs. the $25 million the network reportedly sold for.
t is said that each inbound link is worth $564. I can’t get into Tristan post to check the detail (the page won’t open), so I’m not sure whether the inbound link are taken from Technorati or from search engine, like Google.

The value for my blog above is calculated using Google’s inbound links for this blog. I have two URL address for this blog, one with directory and one with subdomain. The directory address, http://www.funponsel.com/blog, has 107 inbound links, while the subdomain address, http://blog.funponsel.com/, has 283 inbound links. Since this is just for fun, I simply add the two value and multiply it by $564 :P

(107 + 283) x $564 = 388596

Now, what about Technorati? Well, I’m richer if the calculation is based on Techorati’s inbound links. With the same method as above (two different URL), here’s my blog’s value:

(1210 + 17) x $564 = 692028

Wow, if someone is really going to buy this blog for that much money, I’ll sell it! :D

AOL buys Weblogs Inc. For $25M

According to Paid Content, America Online is going to buy Weblogs Inc., a two-year old blog media company founded by Jason Calacanis. Some of the blogs in the Weblogs Inc. network are Engadget, Autoblog, TVSquad, and DownloadSquad. This is the first major acquisition of a blog network by a mainstream media company. AOL itself intends to keep the company separate from its site. Later, Reuters reported that the sale worth $25M.

How to Connect PC to Your HDTV

If you want to connect your computer to a high-definition TV (HDTV), may be this guide can help you.

First of all, before connecting your PCto your HDTV, you must set your video card to a supported resolution for your monitor. For flat screen, set the card to the native resolution. In case you can’t find any resolution suitable with your monitor, you can use video card driver to create a custom resolution.

The late model of HDTV usually fit with both DVI and HDMI connectors. DVI cable actually can handle DVI connections, but you’ll need to use either a DVI-to-HDMI adapter or a cable with a male DVI connector and a male HDMI connector.

The older HDTV uses an analog-video connection. You should plug an adapter cable into the video card that outputs its analog signal to three separate cables which is common feature on high-end ATI and nVidia cards. However, you should make sure that you buy a cable that has a male VGA connector at one end and component analog-video connections at the other.

If you have older video cards and HDTV, you should make some tweaking before connecting your PC to your HDTV successfully. In case you need to adjust the image that extends beyond the edge of the display (overscan) or to eliminate black borders around he image (underscan), click the Advanced Timing button at your nVidia card to change your setting.

In case you’re using ATI card, you will need EnTech’s PowerStrip utility that you can download at www.entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm. Once you got this tool, you can make your custom resolution by yourself.

Let’s Play Some Games!

After loosing passion to our old games site, FreeGamesReview.Com, — mostly because Google thought the site was somehow connected to porn and banned AdSense from the site — we decided to start a new channel on Funponsel, a Games channel. On this channel, we’ll post interesting online Flash games daily (if possible). Not much for now, but go on play the Tainted Kingdom. We’re sure you’d love it.

As for the old site, we have not decide what to do with it. But we’re not gonna throw it away as we really love the design. We’ll probably look for someone to manage and update the site for us, as well as our other game site, GameCheatCode.Org. We also have plan to release a few more game-related sites, including one about GTA.

The Island of God is Bali

I went to Bali for a short business trip earlier this week. It was my first visit to the island of god after more than 8 years. Eventhough it’s just a short visit (less than 16 hours), I enjoyed it. At least I still had the time to taste one of Balinese food, Nasi Campur Kedewataan, which is quite delicious. Since now is the holiday season, most of hotels and villas in Bali are out of book. But thankfully, my friend still managed to book a room for me (in a cheap one, costs less than $20 / night).

Anyway, I’m looking forward to visit Bali again. Hopefully, I can stay there longer on the next trip.
